Compressed air from the compressor head carries oil droplets of varying sizes. Large droplets are separated in the oil-gas separation tank, while suspended oil droplets below 1 μm are filtered by the micron-level glass fiber layer. Oil droplets are captured via diffusion, controlled by the filter material, and coalesce into larger droplets, which gather at the bottom and return to the lubrication system via the oil return pipe, ensuring oil-free compressed air output. Solid particles in the air accumulate in the filter layer, increasing pressure difference over time.
