The OACL20R is a double acting directional ball valve with pneumatic actuator, rated PN160 for medium pressure fire extinguishing systems. Manufactured by Antincendi Unidet Srl in Italy, this valve in carbon steel permits the handling of extinguisher flow into different parts of a centralized system, protecting multiple environments with only one batch of cylinders. The valve body is constructed from A105 galvanized carbon steel with a St.St.316 stainless steel ball. Activation is pneumatic or electrical with a 24Vdc solenoid valve (CO2T18C0P), through a source of external pressure to the system or with the pressure of pilot line reduced to maximum values of P≤Pi (5-10 bar). The double acting actuator ensures reliable directional switching. Available in DN10 to DN100 with NPT FF connections, the OACL20R is certified PED 2014/68/UE and supplied with EN10204 3.1 material certification. An optional St.St.316 valve body is available on request.

Working Principle 

The OACL20R directional ball valve operates on a double acting pneumatic principle identical to the OACL20D. When the 24Vdc solenoid valve is energized, pilot air (5-10 bar) enters one side of the pneumatic actuator, driving the piston and rotating the ball core 90 degrees to switch the flow path toward the selected protected zone. When the solenoid is de-energized, pilot air is redirected to the opposite chamber, rotating the ball back and closing or redirecting the flow. The double acting design guarantees positive positioning in both open and closed states without spring reliance. The St.St.316 ball ensures a leak-tight seal at PN160 operating pressures, and the galvanized carbon steel body provides robust structural integrity for fire suppression service.
